Oakfield House Mains Distribution Upgrade
We recently completed a Mains Distribution Upgrade in a building where every decision mattered. The existing system as you can see from the photos, was decades old, and keeping it running had become a daily challenge. We replaced it with a modern distribution panel equipped with surge protection and full metering on all outgoing submains, giving the building a far more reliable and transparent electrical backbone.
Several submains also needed to be replaced. The original cables were never designed to handle the loads they were now carrying, so we installed new, correctly sized submains to multiple locations throughout the building.
What truly raised the stakes, though, was what the building housed: long‑established “children of the 90s” samples stored in freezers — some more than 30 years old. Losing power wasn’t an option. Every shutdown had to be choreographed with absolute precision, supported by backup supplies and multiple generators to ensure those irreplaceable samples always remained protected.
